The name of base jumping came surprisingly not from a skydiver but held its origins to the film makerCarl Boenish. This name was founded from a film in 1978 where Boenish filmed extreme skydiving jumps in a movie in El Capitain in the Yosmite National Park.
BASE Jumping is very different compared to the regular parachuting. Instead of jumping from planes, BASE jumpers regularly jump off fixed objects that are much lower in altitude than regular skydiving.
The name B.A.S.E is an ingenious acronym for the four types of areas that you can jump off namely Buildings, Antennas, Span(bridges) and Earth(mountains and natural structures)
BASE Jumping is widely regarded as an extreme sport however our team of trained experts will guide you every step of the way!
Our instructors here at Wantirna South BASE Jumping are experts in the field of BASE jumping. All instructors have years of experience and are all excited to share their knowledge with you.
All our instructors and staff are trained with Level 2 Certificate in First Aid and all equipment provided is regularly checked by trained professionals before any jump takes place.
Our club is an amazing chance to meet new people through not only our club jumps but also through our Sunday meetups. Regardless of skill level or experience in BASE jumping, our BASE jumping family is always ready to welcome a new member!
